NAME OREGON CITY’S NEWEST PARK
Oregon City is in the process of naming its newest park. One of the four nominees is US Navy SEAL (Ret.) Tyrone S. Woods who perished in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, while serving with the CIA defending American lives. He was a native Oregonian and a 1989 graduate of Oregon City High School as well as an OCHS state champion wrestler. The proposed park is located off Glen Oak Road in the vicinity of the high school and a short distance from where his mother has lived for 32 years.
Each year we connect with Tyrone’s mom and she sends us her thoughts and feelings about her son’s passing.
YOUR VOTE IS NEEDED!
The city is asking for the public’s help in determining the name of their newest park the 9.1 acre park which is scheduled to open 2019. Vote online to have this park named after Tyrone Woods.
You don’t have to live in Oregon to have your vote count – let’s all show Oregon City know how much we support the memory of Tyrone.
Names will be selected through an online survey vote August 1 through September 30. Visit the Oregon City website to learn about the proposed park and VOTE!
